Local Health Sources

Millions of patients can't afford their prescriptions while billions of dollars of medications are wasted. Through innovative stewardship of the pharmaceutical supply-chain, we've built a national distribution center and pharmacy to support a network of dispensing sites and direct-to-patient prescription solutions.

United Way of Broome County's information and referral service, First Call for Help, serves as a primary channel of access of community resources and links callers with the programs and services best able to meet their needs. Most of the callers need help to meet basic needs such as food and shelter. However, thousands of callers request other type of help, such as dealing with rebellious teens, long-term care options, counseling and support group availability, separation and divorce issues, pregnancy, and the need for medical care.
